I wish that Mastodon had the "Starter Pack" functionality that Bluesky has built. It's a really smooth way to build communities without relying on algorithmic feeds.

Obviously due to the distributed nature of the Fediverse it's never going to be possible to tell how many UK users have joined Mastodon/Firefish/Fedi in the last week or so.
But I'd be curious to know if anecdotally anyone thinks there have been an uptick in new UK accounts here.
Another week goes by with no idea who owns #Bluesky.
A month ago they announced they were finalizing a deal lead by Bain Capital (yes that Bain Capital) valuing the company at $700M.
No information on who the investors are was been shared
Since then crickets.
So, who now owns Bluesky?
Maybe if you are over there, ask them. See what you can find out. Why is it being kept a secret?
