@me I’m also suspicious when someone following me has no posts or followers. There are scripts to do block automatically

@me Some people may have a discomfort about sharing their own media with accounts that do not similarly share any information about themselves, because it tells them nothing about these people. So they cannot relate. They have no idea about the motives of these people, so they act to protect themselves/their data. It may be something like that.

@me Of course it is only speculation, but I remember that I also found this strange at first. If you live in "one software world" (Mastodon, or whatever), one tends to assume that things work the same for everybody else. The fact that this is - by design - not correct for the #Fediverse needs some time to get used to. So as a Mastodon user, if you do not see the followers/following count, this indeed looks fishy.
